Our Story of Margaret of New Orleans

A play by Maura Williamson
Performed by the Leitrim Youth Theatre Company (LYTC), Carrigallen

Youth drama is not always about performing on stage, and
if the workshops are in the hands of good leaders, the work can take members on a challenging journey that life may take them on in years to come. This production has a strong community feel to it, and with the seed of Margaret’s story been sown by many previously in this community such as: Joe Doonan, Raymond Hackett, Michael Reilly, John Joe Rudden, and the Committee of The Margaret of New Orleans Project.

On this production, songwriter and performer, Tony Fahy has written eight songs while John McCartin & Bryan Mulligan have added original instrumentals. Mary Harte, Kate Reilly, Ailish Connnolly, Reichelle Celine Payler, Tony and the cast perform the songs. All add to the music within this production.

Thanks to the LYTC group for helping to devise the script and a special thanks to Susie Minto for her storytelling input. Many strands of an organic artistic community all coming together with LYTC, to enhance this play and that of Our Story of Margaret of New Orleans from Tully, in Carrigallen, Co Leitrim in ireland!
